Frequently
Asked Questions (page 2 of 3)
What are classes
like at the ITFP?
- Students attend
the ITFP for a minimum of 100 minutes daily and attend their home school
for the remainder of the day. ITFP courses are scheduled from 7:35 -
9:15 AM, 1:30 - 3:10 PM. Students may attend both sessions if their
high school schedule permits.
- Much of the course
work is web based, interactive and to a large extent self-paced.
- Students learn
to assume more responsibility for their learning. The ITFP environment
provides students with many resources and options.
- Students will
have the opportunity to directly apply the skills gained in courses
by participating in apprenticeship experiences within LPS and the community.
Guest speakers, projects, field trips, and apprenticeships are an integral
part of the program.
What about transportation?
- Transportation
is not provided to or from the ITFP. However, parking is provided for
students. Check here for the parking diagram.
For those students who do not drive, public transportation may be a possibility. It is also usually possible for parents to arrange
for car pooling to and from the ITFP.
What about fees?
- There is no fee
for attending the program. It is a program offered by Lincoln Public
Schools. Currently, the school can serve approximately 80 secondary
students per semester.
What
about grades, attendance, lunch, etc?
- Report cards
are prepared and distributed by the ITFP. They are the same format used
by the Lincoln Public Schools.
- The administrative
offices of the home schools are notified of the student's attendance
at the ITFP.
- Students must
meet the same graduation requirements as all other district students.
- High school transcripts
are Lincoln Public School transcripts.
- Students only
attend 100 minutes a day, so lunch service is not provided at the ITFP.
