ITFP Goals

The Information Technology Focus Program will provide students with the opportunity to:

  • become competent users of advanced, professional level computer hardware and software;
  • generate innovative ways of utilizing advanced technology applications;
  • apply technology in the problem-solving and decision-making process;
  • use technology to communicate, collaborate, publish, and produce;
  • become self-directed learners;
  • develop an awareness of technology-related careers;
  • examine societal issues related to the use of technology.

ITFP Hardware/Software

The technology available at the Information Technology Focus Program includes state-of-the-art hardware consisting of computers, servers, graphics tablets, printers, digital video cameras, digital still cameras, scanners, projectors, CD burners and networking equipment. There are an equal number of Macintosh and Windows computers, all updated with the latest versions of the respective operating systems. Software used for multimedia development, computer programming, digital graphic design and web page development have been selected to be consistent with the latest developments in business and higher education applications. Examples of software available include: Adobe CS2 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Macromedia MX 2004 (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash) and Final Cut Studio Pro (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, and Soundtrack Pro). In addition, online courses may be provided.
