About
ITFP What is the ITFP? The Information Technology Focus Program(ITFP) exists to provide opportunities for high school students to develop advanced technology skills beyond those taught in the regular high school curriculum. The program is designed to accommodate students with interest, talent and ability in various areas of computer technology. Opportunities exist for students to explore computer technology as it relates to digital video production (interactive media), web page development, networking, graphic design, computer programming and independent study (independent computer applications). Students will also have opportunities to make connections between their course work and the "real world" by participating in various community projects. Where is the ITFP located? The ITFP is currently located on the fourth floor of the Southeast Community College Entrepreneurship Center at 285 South 68th Street Place. You can view or download and print a pdf version of the map for directions. Additional information can be found on our Frequently Asked Questions page. ITFP Vision Computers are revolutionizing the way people process and disseminate information. In this information age, the ability to use technology to process and manipulate information has become the single most important predictor of economic success for individuals as well as states and nations. Therefore, in keeping with the mission and goals of the Lincoln Public Schools, the Information Technology Focus Program will provide students with the opportunity to develop technology skills that will enable them to live, learn and work successfully in the Information Age. ITFP Mission The Information Technology Focus Program will provide students with the opportunity to acquire advanced technology skills, to apply those skills in school-to-work situations, and to accelerate their pursuit of an advanced education. |
