3D Digital Animation

Instructor: Di Fowler

Students will learn to create and animate 3D digital objects. Audio and special effects will be added to animated scenes to produce miniature movies. Broad concepts covered in this course include key framing, modeling, texturing, lighting, animation and rendering. Related elements will include special effects, BodyPaint, sound and post production. Students will work both independently and in small groups to produce animated sequences for themselves and others. Cinema 4D, Garage Band and iMovie are the primary pieces of software for this class.

3D animators created logos for ITFP, and were done by Dylan B., John W., Ryan H. and Skyler E.

Another beginning example of animation is by Dylan B.

Hieu P. created an excellent Apple Digies piece that can be viewed in a reduced format here.

Animators entered the Community Blood Bank advertising contest by creating 30-second commercials. This ad was created by John W. This is the first time an animated commercial has made it into the winners’ circle. Look for it on Time Warner Cable TV, especially CNN.
